Why does Emission Abatement Matter?

Although inceration systems efficiently control emissions such as carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds, incinerators cannot easily control acid gases, heavy metals and nitrogen oxides, all pollutants caused by combustion.

The environmental focus is so important that significant areas of the world, as well as most "blue chip" companies, abide by stringent emissions regulations specific to each region. Energy Dissipation & Recovery

Flue gases exhausting from the combustion plant is now routed to the flue gas abatement plant.  However, because the flue gas abatement plant is temperature sensitive, the energy in the flue gases have to be dissipated, usually by passing them through a heat exchanger. The output from this process is a useful exportable energy in the form of steam or hot water. Approximately for every 1,000kgs of waste incinerated it is possible to recover 3,000kW of heat energy.
